The Framework

The seven Romans 12 gifts.

Often called the “motivational gifts,” these seven describe the ways the Spirit wires each believer to serve. Most of us carry one as a dominant gift, with two or three more as supporting strengths.

Three words of wisdom

How to hold these gifts well.

1 Corinthians 13:2–3

Without love, none of it matters.

Every gift, every act of service, every sacrifice — without love it amounts to nothing. Love is what binds the gifts together.

Luke 16:10

Don’t put yourself in a box.

Be faithful with what you have. As you steward small things well, God broadens your gifts and entrusts you with more.

1 Corinthians 14:12

The purpose is to build up the Church.

Your gift is for the body, not for the spotlight. Discover it in community, deploy it in community, mature it in community.
